I KNOW HOW TO READ!!!

welcome 2 my reading list! here are books i have read or want to read or am currently reading and my opinions on them. if u care.....

Currently Reading

  • Eragon

Already Read

  • Dracula, Bram Stoker - I give this like ummm 4 stars. it would be 5 if quincy morris didnt DIE sorry for spoilers but also its dracula its so old... i like it the romantic aspects arent enough to trigger me and Dracula is scarey vampire. I wish he didnt kill those horses tho :(
  • The Southern Book Clubs Guide To Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix - This is 4 stars for sure. its very fun and suspenseful, and i found myself wanting to strangle characters for being stupid idiots. this book triggered me really bad theres a sexual assault in it, it doesnt describe the attack but the aftermath and it really freaked me out!! honestly i should not have finished reading this it gave me a horrible panic attack but it was good! i reccomend if you can handle stuff like that yk.
  • Wings Of Fire (series), Tui T. Sutherland - 3 stars from me. I absolutely adore this book series, i read it in middle school and it genuinely shaped the person i am today! but the third arc was dissapointing at best. the world and the dragons are so amazing, but Tui's refusal to kill off main characters kills any suspense there could be. and they retconned Seawing blood to be blue instead of red! the final book was very lackluster, and whenever i re-read the series i usually skip the whole third arc. But! the winglets are super good, and Darkstalker is an incredibly written book. Dragonslayer is uh okay i guess, I know a lot of people hate it but i didn't think it was that bad. theres a cat in it!! how could you hate that!!!
  • The Girl Who Drank The Moon, Kelly Barnhill - 5 stars because i genuinely cry whenever i read this. i could go on about how its a book for like middle schoolers and how the dialogue can feel forced, but oh my GOD i cry like a loser when i read it. it has themes of growing up and watching your loved ones age away and its so stupid that a book with a swamp monster made of mud named fucking GLERK can make me emotional. but i also cry to the spongebob squarepants movie so
  • Anthem, Ayn Rand - SOLID 2 AT BEST. i read this for school and i can only describe it as like. evil libertarian. the main character is 22 and his girl is SEVENTEEN! they have KIDS!! its an old book but still i do not like that... the book is written by fucking Ayn Rand so obviously it talks about how collectivism is wrong and society is bad and how we would all be better off living alone in the woods or something. I already dont like dystopia books (no im not reading 1984 i TRIED and got triggered because the main character was describing how he wanted some girl sooooo bad shut up) but this one is so bad outside of that. the main character has a god complex and the trope "born sexy yesterday" is abused to hell and back. The female lead does NOTHING but follow and cling to the male lead the whole goddamn book. i dont like it.
  • All The Stars And Teeth, Adalyn Grace - Im giving this book a 2 because i genuinely cannot remember a single plot point. i think it counts as dystopia?? i got it because the name sounded cool and i like magic fantasy worlds but again it wasnt memorable enough for me to care. it does mention the female lead being on her period though which is cool because not a lot of these adventurer type books ever bring that up. it was fun! apart from some cool sounding magic systems and interesting settings i dont care for this.
  • The Word is Murder, Anthony Horowitz - 5 stars for angsty middle aged british detective. this is apart of a series but i cannot for the life of me remember what its called! i tend to like murder mysteries already but this one doesnt feel like a cop show and is really interesting. A Line To Kill is my favorite in the series because it criticizes the gambling industry and the killer caught me SO off guard. I highly reccomend this for other murder mystery lovers!
  • Moonflower Murders, Anthony Horowitz - I know i just glazed other murder mystery books by this author but this one is like 4 stars. i love this author but this is written from the perspective of a woman and falls victim to the "she bustily walked down the street" male author stereotype but only a little! its so interesting, the author wrote an entire book and put it in this one! honestly, i did not read that section of the book because i cannot stand Victorian writing (its all so slow sorry) but this was still a good book!
